Pianist Chris Andrew and bassist Hutchinson form a trio with drummer Dave Laing and a series of guests to give tribute to Canadian personality Tommy Banks. One doesn’t need to be a Canuck to appreciate the music however, as Andrew has a touch and feel similar to Dave Brubeck, displayed well on the clascial feeling of “Jig” and bopping with delight with alto saxist PJ Perry on the jig of “Kerry Dance/Take The A-Train”. Al Muirhead brings in his trumpet for a easy feel of “M ake Someone Happy” with the cozy toned vocalist Mallory Chipman and bops with Perry on a toe tapping “Joy Spring”.
