Violinist and composer Jessica Pavone brings together the strings of Aimee Niemann/vi, Charlotte Munn-Wood/vi, Abby Swidler/vi, Mariel Roberts/cel, Shayna Dulberger/b and Taherine Young/bassoon for a sextet and soloist collection of four originals. Young sqwacks with long and jarring tones on the ruminating “ Nu Shu (part 1) while her mouthpiece goes through trials and tribulations on the screechy “Nu Shu (part 2). The strings are sustained in tension on the dark and dreary “Nealttwiti” and brood in magma for “Bloom”. Stay away from sharp objects.
