Singaporean Jeremy Monteiro has a feel of vintage Nat King Cole as he sings and plays piano on this release of standards with Tony Lakatos/sax, Ben Poh/b, Hong Chanutr Techatanan/dr and guests including a string section, guitar (Wesley Gehring) and harmonica (Jens Bunge). His voice is relaxed and mellifluous, well timed with the Gehring’s cool guitar and Lakatos’ tenor on” Candy” and breezing easy for ”Smile”. The strings create a glowing atmosphere for pieces like “Blame It On My YOut” and together with Bunge’s harmonica make for a dreamy and nostalgic “Moon River”. Soft swing.
