Guitarist Bryan Lubeck creates Cumberland Gapped moods of Christmas on this album with Nick Besesi/fl, Matthe Agnew/cel, Ted Yoder/ dulc, Joel Norman/vb Luke Ratley-Nate Lacny/perc, Jon Paul/b, John Erickson/mel, Eric Salazar/cl, Neil Artwick/p, Don Stiernberg-Ry Herma/mand and a string team of Erik Ruma, Katherine Hughes and Lewis Hul Stahl. The folksy vibes create gentle snowflakes o “Deck The Hall” and some floating flute flutters on “Carol of the Bells”. The team is upbeat on “Jingle Bells” and there is a lovely minstrel feel to “Welcome Winter” , with Lubeck in graceful attire on “What Child Is This?”. Some nice fingerpicking teams with Salazar on “The Christmas Song” and the strings glisten on “Mary Did You Know”. Gently roasted chestnuts.
