Hammond man Steve Snyder forms a trio with guitarist Joel Tucker and drummer Kenny Phelps that has a feel for the classic days of Larry Young with Grant Green. Yes, there are grooves, but a bit more on the sophisticated side on this album of originals. Snyder gets a big voluminous feel on the bluesy “These Two and relaxes on a sleek style on “So That’s What This Is About”. The team boogaloos a bit on “Message From The Meters” with Tucker drawing with a #2 pencil on the linear “Legacy” and gliding over Phelps’ brushes on the soulful “So Be”. Sublime soul.
