Here’s a band that SOUNDS like a band!
Back in the day, bands had specific feel and groove, and not just an excuse for mindlessly extensive solos. The World Citizen Band understands that difference, made up of Uri Gurvich/as, Ramiro Olaciregui/g, M arcos Merino/p, Kenneth Dahl Knudsen/b and Rodolfo Zuniga/dr.
Each song is a perfect mix of relaxed cool and upbeat energy, with Gurvich searing through “Orient Express” and Olaciregui simmering over Zuniga’s sizzling pulse on “Samba Pra K uki”. Merino is bold and beautiful as he digs in deep on the bouncy charge of “Veras Mijin”, and converses with Zuniga under Olaciregui’s resonant guitar on ”Antares”. A relaxed blues “St. Sulpice” is understated yet still tricky in its delivery, wile “Magic Carpet” percolates under the guitarist’s elastic solo. A soul groove is relentless on “CM’s Blues” and Gurvich puffs the4 magic dragon on “Lotus”. You might want to wear a welder’s mask while listening, as you can feel the sparks fly!
