Satoko Fujii gives a whole new meaning to the term “solo piano”, as this album has the artist going beyond being alone and just using the traditional ideas of a piano. The title tune has the ivories scrambling and splashing like a Class V whitewater, while space is a major contributor with buzzing strings on “Voyage”. “Horizon” is in the more traditional feel of a true nocturne, whle the pizzicato’d strings of “Cut The Painter” jab and poke like a boxer. The currents lurke fo “Wave Crest” and ripple on “Light on the Sea Surface”. Hold onto the life raft!
