The two horns have an audible affinity, snapping to Marriott’s Adderlyish “One Day At A Tie” or strutting loosely through a thrilling take of “So Long Eric”. McCurdy is the perfect peer as he swaggers on “r” and Evans saunters on Vega’s feature of “Girl Talk” Marriott’s aria on “You’ve Changed” is drop dead gorgeous as well, while the two together are as sleek as polished chrome fins on a 61 Caddy on “I Told You So”. Brilliant brass.
