Blue eyed soul reminiscent of The Young Rascals or black southern stompers like The O’Jays are put together by Richard Love/voc, Brian Swislow/key, Leo Plummer/g, Sam Kaplan-Good/dr and Ian Taylor/b for a foot stomping collection of originals. There’s a healthy dose of disco grooves on the 70s-ish “Reflection” and the slynthy “Feel Right”. Love knows how to belt it, as on”Alone” as well as the romantic “S.O.L.” while Taylors bass is as deep as Barry White on the slinky “Take You Home (To Mother) and Plummer cleans the pipes on “For The Better”. Pass the Afro Sheen!
