Blue and thoughtful sax and rhythm with almost liturgical voices support guitarist/compose Neal Barnard’s message on this thoughtful message about not only protecting the world and its resources, but being a responsible steward of the animals of God’s green earth. Moving film sequences of animals rescued in various harrowing moments are only part of the picture. Allegra Havens’ violin glides through a melancholic mood, as Lara Lotz’s penetrating chanson voice pleads for those who cannot speak for themselves. Bobby Read’s sax serves as a sonic segue with Barnard’s guitar and drummer Mike Stetina’s tour through the various video vignettes.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, how many are a seven minute film of deer, dogs, monkeys and other members of Noah’s ark being rescued and remembered ad up to?
