Satoko Fujii and Otomo Yoshihide: Perpetual Motion

What do you get with a summit meeting between two Japanese avant-garde jazzers? Piaist Satoko Fujii and electric guitarist Otomo Yoshihide answer that question with four “Perpetual Motion”  pieces that create varied moods and mayhems. The strings and instrument bodies givesa a percussive drive on the static “I”, while effects and strums eventually crash on the chaotic “II”. The five minute “III” contains tinny string droples” with a mix of space and sonic avalanches come crashing down the mountain on “ IV”. Anyone directing traffic on this Neopolitan fender bender?
