Canadian bassist Remi-Jean LeBlanc puts together a fusiony team of Jerome Beaulier/key, Nicolas Ferron-Francois Jalbert/g, Kevin Warren-Tommy Crane-Luis-Vincent Hamel/dr, and various guests including vocalists Elizabeth Sheph erd and Erika Angell on a n album that mixes sounds of ambience, soul and hints of vintage Weather Report.
Angel is rich in voice with the leader on a visceral “Casa Perdida” and spacious “title track, with Shepherd fluied on “Sataurnales”. The keys get mellow and atmospheric on “Flamme” and creative on “Childlike (Pour Roland)”. There is a feel similar to the early years of Weather Report, with LeBlanc’s bass creating environs of creativity.
