Soulful and fusioned grooves are supplied by drummer Pat Petrillo and his band that includes the likes of Nile Rogers/g, Felicia Collins/g, Oz Noy/g, John Popper/voc, Lenny Pickett/sax, Glen BUrtnik, Dave Cook/key, Scott Ambust/b, Steve Jankowski/tp, Tom Timko/sax and Plinky Giglio/key.
There’s a strong display of a mix of soulful Earth, Wind and Fire and a dash of Weather Report as on the leader driven “Runnin” and some disco ball glimmer of “Global Warming”. A das of Springsteen is rocking on “Asbury Daze” and a take of The Beatles’ “It Won’t Be Long” sounds like the band was born to run. Pickett gets down on the funkified soul of “48th Street” and Petrillo snaps out a Crescent City groove on the fun “Hey, Pocky Way”. Feet don’t fail you now!
