Drummer and leader Gustavo Cortinas brigns together the rich voice of pianist Meghan Stagl along with Emily Kuhn/tp, Erik Skov/g and Katie Ernst/b for a fragrant collection of pastoral and tradtional sounds. Stagl floats with Kuhn on the folksy “I Hope You Have A Good Phone Call Today” and she wisps through the dreamy “Emigraste”. Her piano is dainty on “Anamnesis” while Cortinass brushes suavely on the gliding “Walkin’”. Ernst and Cortinas get a soulful groove from “When I Leave You” with soft pastels emitted on “Amanece”. Genteel gems.
