Rotating between fretless and fretted electric guitars, oud and classical guitars, Jussi Reijonen brings together a mix and match of Jason Palmer/tp-fh, Bulut Gulen/tb, Layth Sidiq/vi, Naseem Alatrash/cel, Utar Artun/p, Kle Miles/b, Keita Ogawa/perc and Vancil Cooper/dr for a mood shifting five part opus.
The journey opens as “The Veil” has brooding bowed bass, leading into a violin led prog rock mood. There is a collection of Middle Easter mysticism with oud as the cantor builds up on “Transient” and electric guitar bringin in dark effects for Artun on “The Weaver…”. The brass carroms around the plugged in strings on “Verso” and the album closes with piano, effects and elegiac trumpet on “Median”. A caravan of shifting sands.
