Drummer and leader Dan Kurfirst creates a mix of dreamy soundscapes with soulful grooves on this album with Daniel Carter/tp-ww, Alex Marcelo/key-p, Damon Banks/b and Roshni Samlal/tabla on this album of originals. There is a mix of voices and synth or acoustic beats on the bohemian “Peace In”, “Two Chants” and tribal “Birth Beats 1”while Carter brings in a Miles Davisy trumpet along with dreamy flute on ”Meditative Groove”. Sandied sounds coast along the dreamy reeds and percussive permutations on “Dreamscapes” with the rhythm team percolating provocatively on the funky beat under Carter’s sax on “Not Yet”.
