Earthy vocals are shared by guitarist AW Cardinal and bassist Jasmine Colette, backed by the dark blue team of Duke Robillard/g, Darcy Phillips/p-B3, Jerry Cook/ts-bs, Matt Pease/dr, Paul Pigat/g, Bonnie Northgraves/tp and Senor Erik/tamb. Cardinal at times sounds like mid career Tom Waits, spewing out razor blades around the tasty strings of “Thunderbird” and sitting on the back porch for the intimate folksy “Red Dust Rising”. Colette also has an ax to grind, strolling around the bari sax and B3 on “Come On Down” and goes wang dang doodle on “Hound Dog On A Chain”. The guitars have some Les Paul fun on “My Wild Rose” and the team swings easy on “Medicine Man”. Blues in faded blue jeans.
