Composer Eva Kess creates an album mixing music and voice to serve as a kind of healing from the whole COVID pandemic and lockdown. There’s a pastel’d mix of reeds, horns and strings, along with a rhythm section, as well as Mirjam Hassig’s vocals on the soft “Magic Mama” with Jonathan Salvi’s vibes, the indie-ish “Hey Dylan” and the chamber’d read of “But Beautiful”. Cyprien Rochat’s guitar is echoey on the vibrating “Wondering What IS Coming” and a birth of the cool feel is evident with Marco Karrer’s soprano on the delicate “Intuitive Loss” with a folksy feel emanating form Vincent Brunel’s violin on “In between Worlds”.
