Rich vocal harmonies, upbeat folk beats and acoustic joys are delivered by the team of Eric/b-voc and Arvid/g/voc Rusk, cousin Anna Moller/vi-va-fid-voc and neighbor Mischa Grind/perc-org-voc on a mix of vocal and instrumental tunes that are as fresh as today’s bread, but as hearty as an evening stew.
There is also a neighborhood of guests, bringing horns, voices, guitars and keyboards to the festivities. There’s a folksy charm to the rich vocal harmonies of a piece such as “Time Will Tell” and “Alla Andra”, and Moller has an exquisite delivery on “Drommen”. Moller’s fiddle swings hard on the two stepper “Springen” and there is a charming Gaellic feel to the celebratory “Nattsudd”. Some pizzicato’d wonders lead into “Tiden Gar For Fort” and there’s even a dash of the vintage folk band Steeleye Span on the festive “Morgondag”. The optimism on this release is infectious…any trips to the US planned?
