Bassist Or Bareket leads an intuitive and electronic driven team of Morgan Guerin/ts-EWI-org, Jeremy Corren/p-key and Savannah Harris/dr through a series of originals that are highly reminiscent of Jaco Pastorius-era Weather Report. In fact, the opening “Root System” with guest Joel Ross on p ercussion sounds like something from the classic Jaco album, while Guerin’s EWI teams with the rustling rhythm section on “Soil” , the tasty “Kapara” and dreamy “Hiraeth”. Guerin’s moody tenor works well also on the pulsating “Sundial” and over the urgent charge led by Harris on “Oyen”, while Corren gets somber during “Temperance”.
