Trombonist Vincent Chandler is featured on the pulsating album of Afro Cuban tunes led by composer/percussionist Mark Lipson. The horn section of Chandler with Rafael Statin/wwinds is rich and muscular as they glide around the rhythm team of Nate Winn/dr, Cary Kocher/vib, Gary Schunk/p and Jeff Pedraz/b. The horns wail on the haunting “Leafar Village” and are festive as the glide around the percolating percussion on “Springwells”. Schunk, Chandler and Statin lead the conga dance of “Copy Caty” and saunter on “If You Came To Me For Love”, while Statin’s soprano sears through the crash and burn flailing of “I Remember Joe”.
