Chuck Lamb & Peter Mack: Exit 33

Pianist Chuck Lamb teams up with bassist Peter Mack for some deft and swinging interpretations of standards and originals. Lamb has a folkish and traditional feel in his fingers for the title track, while upbeat on the bopping “B.E” and parlor perfect for the dreamy “Pete’s Song”. Mack plays peek-a-boo on a fun read of “It Could Happen To You” and is bluesy for “Mr. Slinky” while the two delve inquisitively into “Yesterdays”. There’s a nice uptown feel to “The Haunt” while Lamb stretches out his fingers for the big stride of “Un-Boogie For Dave”. Two for tea.
