Richard Wilkins: Life’s For Livin’

Music made for cruising the boulevard and humming out of your car speakers is served up by Richard Wilkins, who sings, plays a mean tenor and hits the bass with his low riding band of Jimi Bott/dr, Kevin Selfe/g, Steve Kerin/p-key and a handful of guests. He hums like a 58 Chevy with his gruff voice and attitude on “Howlin’ For My Darling” and wails with his sax and heart on the bluesy pair of Jimmy Reed tunes “Honest I Do” and “You Don’t Have To Go”. The rhythm team shuffles like a Kansas City card shark as they run off to the races on “Night Train”. The band boogies through “I Don’t Drink No More” and go into a Memphis joint on “Help Me”, with the sparks flying off of the drums. Don’t get in the way of this band-they’ll run you right over.
