Dreamy atmospheres seemingly destined for movie moods are provided by the intuitive trio of Jane Rigler on flute, Curtis Bahn handling various electronics with stringed instruments and Thomas Ciufo handling both percussion and electronics. Together, dreamlike atmospheres hover as on the floating “Listening” or statically drift on the contemplative “Hearing The Bell”. Rippling waters trickle on the dark and elastic “Boundless” with ominous gurgles percolating during “Calm”. All the while you take this in, you can imagine various plots and scenarios of films noir, with characters luring around the shadows. Isn’t music supposed to transport you somewhere?
