The band Sharp 5 is made up of Teri Roiger/voc, Pete Levin/p-key, John Menegon/b, Jeff Siegel/dr, Nanny Assis/perc-g and Collins/fl-ts, creating gracious and flowing post bop sounds. Roiger’s voice has a hint of early Carmen McRae, simmering on the soul jazz of “Sunshower” and scatting on “Island of The Sun”, stark on the indie sounding “’Round Midnight”. Levin’s p iano supports the earthy read of “Remembering You Shirley”, while Menegon sings on the Latin lilt of “Shine A Bright Light” and Assis’s nasal singing adds rich samba tones to the fragrant “E Prediso Perdoar”. A collection of calm breezes.
