NRBQ: Dragnet

The venerable and versatile band NRBQ, now consisting of Casey McDonough/b-voc, Terry Adams/key-voc, John Perrin/dr and Scott Ligon/g release their first album in about 5 years, mixing all of their strengths that have kept them together (on and off) for over 50 years. The band is quite eclectic here, bringing in some sweethearts of the rodeo on “I Like Her So Much”, kinda Kinkish for the two stepping “Miss Goody Two Shoes”, harmonizing like The Beatles for “You Can’t Change People” and rocking the boogie for the title tune. There’s a cozy swing to the Tin  Pan Alley’d “That Makes Me A Fool” and a rock funkhouse on “Five More Miles” with a wonderful love song with piano and vocal on “Sunflower”. A Whitman’s Sampler of the best that America has to offer.
