Manny Kellough and Friends: Speaking of Jazz (West to East Coast)

]Drummer Manny Kellough brings out jazz from the west and east coast that is as timeless as his Christian faith, teaming with Wes Biles-Gary Brown/b, Matt Clark-William Knowles/p, Michael Thomas/tp, Antonio Parker/as and Julian Hipkins-Ashley Kellough-Azuer McCall/voc for some hip jazz standards. Thomas’ horn is glistening on the lovely waltz of Woody Shaw’s “Katrina Ballerina” while Parker bops with delight to Hipkins’ singing on Billy Preston’s “Noting From Nothing”. Kellough digs in deep on the easy toe tapper  “Happy Swing in “F” and clippety clops on the delightfully hip “Secret Love”. McCall is soulful on the lithe “East of the Sun” and Matt Clark taps into his inner Red Garland with a her on a sultry and slinky “Foggy Day”. Vintage tones.
