New York resident and flutist Itai Kriss leads a team of Wayne Tucker/fh-tp, Cesar Orozco/p-key, Tamir Shmerling/b, Dan Aran/dr, Marcos Lopez/perc and a collection of guests on a mix of earthy Latin and Soul. Kriss’ flute is graceful over Shmerling’s pulse on “The Cusp” and gloriously puffs on “Sagittarius”. Orozco’s hands create a staccato’d groove on “Crustacean” and form a cheerful mood on “Libra”, as his keyboards simmer on “Virgo”. Keisel Jimenez is rich in voice with Tucker on “Taurus” and Maestro adds exotica to “Aquarius”. Some nice Latin from Manhattan
