Daniel Pesca: Promontory

Pianist Daniel Pesca goes solo on this impressionist collection of a mix of interpretations of modern composers and originals. There’s some elliptical touches of Debussy on his treatment of Aaron Travers’ “Olcott Park” as well as his own spacious “Promontory Point” and “Bobolink Meado”.  For some compositions by Alison Yun-Fei Jiang, his fingers create droplets of dew on “”As Birds Bring Forth the Sun” and get agitated on “Salt”. His own suite entitled “Hyde  Park Boulevard” ranges from dark reflections of “The Lagoon at Dusk” to Satie whimsical treatises for “The Wooded Isle”. Gently stirred waters.
