Saxist Dave Koz creates a symbiotic relationship with guitarist Cory Wong on the mix of smooth jazz and hip R&B. A lot of the tunes make you feel like you’re watching a 50s B crime movie, with the sax section gigging in on “Getaway Car”. Othertimes, it’s time to look for James Brown at the mic, as the team goes fabulously flaming on “Feed the Id” and the sweet funky saxy “Junkyard Dunebuggy”. Koz hits the 70s soul with his alto on the title tune, and his soprano is lovely on Gratitude” and when it teams with vocalist Phoebe Katis on the sweet and percussive “Your Side of Town”. If they tour, you won’t be able to stay seated, guaranteed.
