LA guitarist Milly Miller, known for her work with Jason Mraz and Black Eyed Peas, leads a trio with bassist Jennifer Condos and drummer Jay Bellerose on this understated and unassuming collection of originals. The tones range from a Bo Diddley grooved “Hear It Calling” and garage rocked “Slow Burn to Nowhere” to understated spaciousness of “Whenever You Call” and the slow mist of “Meditations on Movements”. Bellerose supplies nice brush wok on the cool “Hasta Luego” and the rhythm calypsos through “You Say”. A couple solo excursions display Miller’s patient charms on “You Say” and the tender “Over The Fence”. Subtle strings.
