Playing a myriad of keyboards and synths, Richard Barbieri mixes and matches guest voices and instruments to create a dark and moody tapestry of palpable tones. The atmospheres range from a tropical “Under A Spell” with vibes, horns and various “treatments” to ethereal ambience such as “Clockwork”, “Sleep Will Find You” or “Darkness Will Find You” where Barbieri melds drum percussion, samples, keys and sometimes voices to remind us of Brian Eno at his finest. Bass guitar guests Percy Jones and Axel Crone add dark mystery to “Serpentine” and the eerie “Lucid” respectively, while the sun sets to voce and electronics on the minimalist “A Star Light”.
