Mark Murdock plays drums, keyboards, horns and percussion along with lead vocalist Time Pepper, guitarist Daniel Kubota, bassists Kenta Shimokuni and a collection of guests on this mix of 80s sounding rock. Pepper sounds a bit like Peter Gabriel, while the band hits like the street rockers Mott The Hoople on pieces like “The Starfish and the Four Phases of The Moon”. There’s some lovely impressionistic guitar work on “Silence On Empty Streets” and warm synth sounds for “Reoccuring Dreams” while Murdock rides the cymbal with Shimokuni slapping the bass on “Compromised”. Music for the Reagan years.
