Post bop pianist Jorgen Emborg leads a rich quintet anchored by the legendary electric bassist Steve Swallow along with Alex Riel/dr, Lisbeth Diers/perc and Fredrik Lundin/ts-ss on this collection of “live” tracks from material recorded in Copenhagen back in March, 1992. Emborg has a rich and exotic swing style, richly and lightly propelled by Swallow as Riel’s brushes glide along pieces like “Forgotten Truth” and the percolatingly percussive “Some Other Time”. The team digs deep on “Password” and playful on “Say After Me Please”, as Lundin adds elegance with his soprano on “Waltz In Four” and class with his tenor on “Over The Rainbow”. Swallow is deliciously deft as he glides under Lundin’s tenor on “My Kind of Blues”, cantering like a gazelle to the saxist on “On The Second Day”. There are also a handful of duets between Lundin and Emborg, including a Monkish “Impatience” and a fluffy “One Step At A Time”. Cirrus sounds.
