Pianist Noah Haidu gives a tribute to the most influential living pianist, Keith Jarrett, as he teams up with all stars Billy Hart/dr and Buster Williams/b on this delightful trio salute. Haidu only interprets one Jarrett composition, giving a solo intro to the lovely “Rainbow” before blending it with his own buoyant “Keith Jarrett”. He gives rich and thoughtful chords to her own composition, a solo “Slowly” while is impressionistic and elegant on Buster Williams’ “Air Dancing”, featuring the composer on a melodic interlude. Williams also shines as the notes bend and snap like Reese Witherspoon around Hart’s classy brush work on “But Beautiful” and on “What A Difference A Day Makes”. Haidu glistens like Waterford crystal on the pulsating “Duchess” and is romantically melancholy during “Georgia”. I’d love to see this threesome tour around.
