Miguel de Armos mixes his piano and keyboards in a wide variety with is core team of Mac Decho/b, Diomer Gonzalez/cong, Michel Medrano Brindis/dr and a variety of guests on this collection of originals. The core team is upbeat on the percussive bopper “Couscous” with some hip bass work by Decho on “ Gone Too Soon”. Tyler Harris brings in his hot alto sax for the Caribbean street fest of “It Meant Something Else” while tenorist Petr Cancura saunters in on “Mununi”. Rich strings add allure to a dramatic “Eva Luna” and Afro Cuban atmospheres are brought in by Yasmina Proveyer/voc, Roberto Riveron/b and Jose Alberto Alvarez batista/gu on the bold title track. Sparks are flying throughout.
