Singer, pianist and songwriter Jared Feinman covers a wide range of musical and personal emotions on this album that mixes his keyboard work with thoughtful strings and beyond. His style is not unlike Billy Joel in the sense of street smarts, with this album dividing 11 songs into four “Clusters”.
At time, there is a dash of Todd Rundgren with his observations on “Love Is An Obstacle” while his Britten-like strings add deep thoughts to “Some Final Thoughts” and “Inside a Reverie”. Street saloon observations are heard on “All My Life” with giving some nice piano and thoughts on “Wait For The Judge”. Stripped down blues with harmonica and piano give an almost Cajun mood to “88” while synthy and classical tones come up on the reflective “(Let’s Sing For) Being Free”. Intimate and observant.
