Personal and back porch blues are picked, played and sung by Chris Gill on this collection of various stages of blues. His strings can create light droplets of dew as on “You Never Know” or create dark ominous clouds on the echoey “Rolling Man”. Some gorgeous slide work is evidenced on the title track, and when he sings, his rasp adds attitude to the strong slide on “Song For Moneyboy” while strolling like Rev Gary Davis on “Fleas and Ticks”.
