Leader Srdjan Ivanovic plays drums and keyboards on a collection of folkish fusion originals with Andreas Polyzogopoulos/tp, Frederico Casagrande/g, Mihail Ivanov/b and guest Magic Malik/fl. For the sake of my fingers, let’s focus one time on Polyzogopoulos for starters, who does some pretty abstraxt work with Casagrande on the impressionisitic title tune and gasps on the elegiac “The Man With The Harmonica”, finally pleading on “A L’Aube Du Cinquieme Jour”. He also delivers an area with Casagrande on a lyrical “Andreas” and teams with Malik on the pretty yet melancholy traditional sounding “Guchi”. Casagrande is thick and romantic on a solo “Sleeping Beauty”, with the entire album book framed by spacious and tropical sounds of nature. Ivanovic is a presence in terms of creating a moods and atmosphere, never charging out in front, but guiding, tapping cymbals here, or using deft brushwork there, serving as a guide through a rich path of wondrous hills and valleys. A John Muir trail of music.
