Gabriel Bolans & Frank Carlberg: Charity and Love

Pianist Frank Carlberg teams up with Gabriel Bolanos on the laptop computer and various electronics to create 11 pieces of sound that feel like experimentations of Brian Eno. The material ranges in length from an over ten minute title piece of tapes, replayed voices and wrapping paper to concise 1 ½ minute i ditties with the voice tape of ‘Soul and Jazz” and the prismatic Monk piano on “Hop, Skip, Jump”. Moods akin to suspense movies like “The Spiral Staircase” are created on the eerie chase of piano and electronics of “Mary Lou, Mary  Blue” and some hid under the blanket tones on “Water Under The Bridge”. Music in need of a movie with Betty Davis.
