Canadian guitarist Mike Freedman delivers clean, concise, clear and classy guitar work a la Herb Ellis with a core team of Jeremy Leadbetter/p, Kobi Hass/b, Max Senitt/dr and guests Alex baro/tp, Chris Gale/ts, Curtis Freeman/b and Louis Simao/perc. Vintage post bop is well articulated by the guitarist on “Day of Change” and the pretty “Tomorrow Is Yesterday” with the team rocking out to a Doors riff on ‘Into the Daybreak”. Leadbetter gets dramatic as he’s featured on “Snake In The Grass” while Gale is hip on “Lamentation Revelation and the graceful “Resolve”. Simao adds an extra sizzle to some unison guitar/horn lines on “Samba in the Sand” with some sophisticated harmonies by the band on “May The 4th Be With You”. Clever chords.
