TAKING OFF…The United States Air Force Band; The 2020 Jazz Heritage Series-Airmen of Note with John Fedchock, Christian McBride and Randy Brecker

The skies are safe and swinging with the US Air Force Band conducted by Commander Don Schofield, as he enlists the chops of trombonist John Fedchock, bassist Christian McBride and trumpeter Randy Brecker as guests to sit in with this swinging 19 piece band and vocalist. The team shows I’s punch on the Basie-ish “Power Outage” and shuffling read of “Honeysuckle Rose”. Fedchock is bold on his own “Up And Running” and bopping for Cedar Walton’s “Ojos De Rojo”. McBride’s big bass sound teams with the sax section on his “Getting’ To It” and the pretty “The More I see You.” Brecker shows the funky side of The Force on “Straphangin’” and the team soars like an F-15 Strike Eagle on “Tokyo Freddie”. The team aims high and flies to win!
