Gasoline Lollipops: All The Misery Money Can Buy

Clay Rose has a voice similar to Mama and Papa John Phillips and Waylon Jennings, playing rhythm guitar and teaming up with Don AMbory/g, Scott Coulter/keys, Bradley Morse/b and Kevin Matthews/dr for some honky tonking. The team boogies to Coulter’s organ on the title track and does a two step shuffle on “Nights Are Short”. Some Hendrix licks cry Mary on the bluesy “Dying Young” and a Byrdsy twang pops up on “Taking Time” and the hard hitting “Bound For Glory”. Rose sounds like he means it it on the acoustic confession of “Sinnerman” and takes you to the VFW on “VFW”. A night at the Moose Lodge.
