Guitarist Chris Stamey creates indie sounds with a team of Charles Cleaver/p-org, Dan Davis/dr, Jason Foureman/b, a team of singers in Brett Harris, Ramune Martin and Django Haskins along with a horns section for added textures. The material ranges from a lonely fragile voiced title track with bass clainetist Matt Douglas to some Norah Jones-ish voice by Martin on a reflective “I Don’t Think Of You”. The vaudevillian “Dangling Cheek to Cheek” has a fresh sounding Django Haskins at the mic, and the instrumental “Un Autre Temps” has the saxist Will Campbell in a relaxed mood. The leader himself is in a jaunty mood on the chanteuse-y “Come Home To Me” with tenor saxist Elijah Freeman” assertive on the modal “cerulean Is Lovely.” Casual blues.
