Hungarian drummer Gergo Borlai gives a tribute to drummers that have inspired his career on this album with a rotating team of guests on keyboards, bass, guitar, flute, percussion and voice.
The fun part is figuring out the artists from the titles of the songs, with some fairly easy. “Vinnie” sounds just like a Jeff Beck rocker with some vocal introduction, and “Peter” has a Weather Report spacey feel with perfected brush work and a sweet bass like akin to Jaco Pastorius. “Dennis” takes you into a funky chamber, and some hard rocking metal hits hard on “Gary” and the spacy Caribbean “Steve”. It’s fun to hear the various fingerprints that Borlai leaves behind at each musical scene of the crime. s
