Tritone guitars by Stephan Thelen and Bernhard Wagner along with tritone bassist Christian Kuntner and drummer Manuel Pasquinelli bring in guitarist and loopiest David Torn for a quartet of tunes that stretch from nine to almost thirteen minutes.
The handful of songs are mostly of a static pulse, with just a tad of variation, as “Triskadekaphilia” uses the same riff and groove ad infinitem, droplets of bass under an undulating solo with minor dynamics changing in the title piece, and drums and spacy guitar effects create a hazy glen on “Slowburn”. Keyboard effects and throbbing pulses on “Cloud Chamber” make the entire outing seem like outtakes of jams from a mid-period Genesis album. The laying down.
