The inspiration and mood of legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt is adroitly captured by the team of Michael Gray/vi, Rick Leppanen/b, David Lange/acc and the two guitar front of Tim Lerch with Jim Char on this collection of originals. Waltzing themes are relaxed with Gray’s bow on the title track and they supply “Alacrity” while the team goes hotcha’ for “Just Can’t Stop” and “Biscuites ‘N Groovy”. Of course you’re going to get some nice finger picking for gypsies, and the team two steps on “It’s A Secret” and the strings are lovely on the wondrous “Nocture” while swinging fingers dance on “Pearl Bop”. Lange also gets a chance to lead as he hums on the folksy “June Tune” and struts during “Starlight Ballroom”. Django Djams!
