Peppino D’Agostino: Connexion

Guitarist Peppino D’Agostino displays strong strings and touch on this solo outing of original compositions. His strings are dramatic on strong pieces such as “High Plains Guitarra” and the complex “Head Case” that combine complex lines and rich chord sequences. Some folklore is evident on the traditional feeling “ Mara’s Sleeping Song” and the haunting “Stammi Vicino” which includes some support on flute-like guitar sounds from Stef Burns. D’Agostino’s touch is reminiscent of John Fahey, with an assertive approach to the strings on “Beauty in the Abyss” and “Mexican Sunrise” but always using space as a friend as well, such as on “dancing With Shadows”. Personal pickings.
