Drummer, composer and arranger Jacek Kochan creates quirky moods and themes with a team that includes the wispy voices of Elizabeth Sheperd (also on piano) and Sari Dajani. The artsy themes are funky with Rasp Soulage’s guitar and Rich Brown’s electric bass on “Evident Monk” while soulful CTI moods are created on “Not To Be Trusted”. Anthony Alexander’s Hammond gets into a Deep Purple mood on the rocking “Soliloquy’ along wit hPierre Cote’s electric guitar and Luis Deniz brings a rich alto sax along with Nguyen Le’s guitar on a rocking blue “Better Yet”. Most jazzy is the hip “Mocker’s Loung” with some nice bass work by “Adrian Vedady”, but for the most part you get a big does of poetic bohemia. Be sure to wear a suede jacket.
