THE GREAT ATARI SONGBOOK?!? Wolff Parkinson White: Favours

Here’s a WILD one for you. Wolff Parkinson White plays electronic sounds, noodles, ricochets and things that go bump in the night in a collection of duets with vocalists all intended to sound like they’re telling scary ghost stories by the campfire. Most of the vocalists, such as Natalie Beridze, Clare Manchon, and even Norah Jones do sound like a re-incarnation of Nico on pieces like the Ponging “Sand”, the trapped in a cage “When I’m In Pieces” and  the eerie “Department of Failure” respectively. Space effects on “Light Fall Shadow” with Amanda Baisinger,” a teaming of Eno, Kraftwerk and the Wicked Witch of the West on “Repose” and tones from a Nintendo set on “Mitred Sun” with Becca Stevens make for harrowing imbibing. Morton Subotnick meets the Velvet Underground?
